Join our Expansion Committee at Atlanta, Georgia!

VOLUNTEER OVERVIEW

The Expansion Committee will deal with all matters pertaining to the I’RAISE expansion project at Atlanta, Georgia. All action in the areas of expansion must be approved and sanctioned by the Expansion Committee.

Functions:

• Work together to ensure that the I’RAISE has a strong operation and programmatic system
• Community outreaching and community engagement, and learning the needs of the community, seeing what programs are accessible and what could be added - Conduct accurate research to identify specific needs
• To regularly report all committee activities to the Executive team and the Board of Directors
• To review the Expansion Guidelines to ensure that they reflect the current policies and guidelines
• Together expansion committee members will coordinate all expansion activities
• Provide leadership by developing and demonstrating clear alignment with organization and an increasing level of commitment as the expansion project matures
• Willing to commit to the entire project duration to ensure continuity
• Actively engage all member organizations in the expansion process
• Must attend in-person Expansion Committee meetings
• Additional functions as needed by Board of Directors and the Executive Team

Team: We have a small team of Executive, Marketing, Human Resources and New York Board of Directors who have been working actively on the Atlanta, Georgia expansion project.

Location: Hybrid. Atlanta, Georgia

Hours:10 to 12 hours per month

Commitment: 1 year

We are looking for professional or university students who come from one or more from the following fields:

• Marketing, Public Relations, Business Management, Project Management, Education, Social Work, Social Service, Legal, Marketing, Program Development/ Community Development, Non-profit Management, Information Technology (IT), Research, Grant writing, Accounting/Finance

We are a tax-exempt 501c(3) non-profit organization located in New York City. And, we are led by strong BI-POC women leaders! The founder of I'RAISE is Shanequa Moore who is a Chief Executive Officer & Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

Growing up, especially for the BI-POC group, we can all relate to not getting the educational resources to help us feel accomplished in schools, feeling overwhelmed by not being able to understand the topics of class subject(s), not receiving proper tutoring or mentoring, not having mental or emotional support, feeling lost about college decision(s), feeling lack of confidence in resume preparation or college application and such.

Seeing the programs and services that I'RAISE provides we may feel like 'Darn, I wish I received such services when I was a student.' However, because of that feeling we may feel, we also begin thinking about the HOW. How we could help the future generation of BI-POC children. And we think about the WHY. To provide the children supportive services that helps them avoid going through the overwhelming school experiences that we have gone through. That is why we have I'RAISE Girls & Boys International Corporation.

Since 2012 we are so proud being able to provide holistic services such as free tutoring, mentoring, coaching, college preparation, counseling, student support, school services, virtual performing arts classes and much more to the children of the under-resourced communities in New York City, and to multiple states virtually.
