ORGANIZATION: The Salvation Army - San Jose, CA
Adult Volunteers: Saturdays only, 11am-2pm, 1 volunteer needed each Saturday.
Description: Help w/food prep, pack meals into food containers, distribute meals "to-go," clean in kitchen or shelter areas (sweep, mop, wipe down kitchen counters, walls, windows), able to follow instructions, healthy-able to bend, lift, sort, organize and move food items into appropriate places in kitchen area, and other help as needed.
Must follow all COVID CDC guidelines, wearing of facemasks, social distancing, hand sanitizing, washing hands, protocol for sneezing/coughing and other procedures.
Adult Volunteers must be fully vaccinated, have booster shot and vaccine card.
Appropriate Attire: Mandatory closed toe shoes, no sandals, flipflops or open toe shoes allowed. Hair nets and plastic gloves provided and used. Short or long sleeve shirts, not spaghetti straps, sleeveless, tank top type shirts or short shorts/dresses or skirts; must be appropriate length (longer not short).
Required:
-Register as volunteer (on-line, contains e-waivers)
-Attend Volunteer Orientation (25-30 minutes) at least 3 days before your first day.
-Clearance on Megan's Law Registry
-Initialed USDA Forms
-Complete Vaccine Attestation Form (bring card as proof)
-Must be 18 years or older
