ORGANIZATION: Rainier Valley Food Bank

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
  • 57 people are interested

Come support our community by helping distribute healthy food to our hungry neighbors!

"In-person shopping" shifts are Fridays and Saturdays, 8:30am - 11am and 11:30am - 2:30 PM. You are welcome to sign up for both shifts if desired, but we will fully close for lunch between shifts with no volunteer work or staff support during this time so that we can care for ourselves before continuing to care for the community. You are encouraged to have lunch and hang out with fellow volunteers while we take a break!

Distribution Volunteers may:

Set up distribution center for shopping
welcome clients
help guests load selected food into their bags
hand out to-go lunches
monitor stations
clean up after shopping, reset warehouse for next shift/day
Translate for guests*

*We serve a very diverse community with over 14 languages spoken. Bi/multilingual volunteers are especially needed.

RVFB verifies community service hours for school, work, or court. Ask a staff member how to track your hours.

Sign up online at www.rvfb.org or contact volunteer@rvfb.org for more information.
