ABOUT RLC:
Rescuing Leftover Cuisine is a 501(c)3 nonprofit food rescue organization that redistributes surplus food to feed people, not landfills. We match available food from businesses to the food needs of nearby organizations that provide necessary food assistance for people with zero or low income of all ages, races, cultures and religions. Our volunteer "Rescuers" use our food rescue technology to transport the food, at no cost to the recipient organization.

RLC is seeking a passionate intern who is committed to social, environmental and local action to assist RLC’s Operations Manager in Massachusetts and Rhode Island . This is an opportunity to develop and strengthen valuable skills while making a real and sustainable impact in Massachusetts.
ABOUT YOU:
RLC is seeking an ambitious Operations Assistant Intern who is committed to social, environmental and local action. This is a great opportunity for those seeking outreach experience for a career in Operations or Management.
DETAILS:
- This is a part-time, unpaid internship. We welcome the opportunity to work with your school or school’s foundation to provide school credit or a stipend.
- Start Date: 2022 Fall and Winter internship cycles available.
- Flexible hours (5-20 hours weekly) with minimum 12 week OR 120 hour commitment.
- Fully remote position (Eastern Time preferred).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure that volunteers "Finish" events on their Rescuer dashboard
- Review Finished Events issues and report any IT-related problems/bugs or issues
- Collect photos from Finished Events and coordinate with Social Media Intern
- Data Entry, including updating necessary info as needed (contacts, schedule changes, etc)
- Routing Rescue Events (from Donor to Recipient)
- Other related tasks as assigned
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), Google drive, docs & forms
- Strong organizational, oral and written communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, and work independently without supervision
- Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
- Proactive work ethic, demonstrates aptitude for problem-solving

Rescuing Leftover Cuisine (RLC) is a nonprofit organization committed to fighting food insecurity and preventing wasted food. We have cultivated a network of dedicated food rescuers who bring food directly from our food donors to nonprofit recipients, letting neighbors help neighbors while reaping the environmental and economic benefits of reducing wasted food. Founded in 2013, our simple, but elegant model has saved over 8 million pounds of food since our inception.
