As people face a terminal illness and are confined to a hospital bed or hospice room, music can provide a great source of solace and comfort.
Apex Hospice and Palliative Care is looking for volunteers to spend time with hospice patients. Music is known to have a profound effect on a persons' physical, mental and emotional well-being. Research shows that music can help ward off depression, manage stress, help with pain management, express feelings, enhance memory and ease muscle tension.
We are looking for volunteers that love to sing, play an instrument, or stream. share and listen to music that you love. Many of our patients would love to hear music - in any form- and would welcome the opportunity to have you visit. Your gift of music will make life more pleasant for individuals during their end-of-life days. All safety precautions are maintained including required COVID vaccines and the use of appropriate personal protective equipment during visits.
