Outreach Events Volunteer: Dinosaur Ridge participates in a variety of outreach events throughout the year including community festivals, fairs, and school events. Volunteers represent the organization with an educational booth featuring replica fossils, dinosaur models and educational information and occasionally assist with an educational activity for families & children. Most events take place on weekends, but there are occasional weekday or weeknight events as well. It's a lot of fun and it's an easy role to learn. We provide you with a well-stocked bin of materials, banner and tablecloth for to take to the event to be our outreach ambassador!

Special Events Volunteer: Dinosaur Ridge also hosts several special educational and fundraising events during the year including Scout Days and Dinosaur Discovery Days. During these events, volunteers can help with:
  • event set-up and tear-down
  • registration & visitor orientation
  • parking direction
  • demonstrating easy-to-learn activities such as fossil sifting, replica track painting, rock and mineral ID etc. (Training provided the day of the event for all hands-on activities)
  • geology & paleontology interpretation on Dinosaur Ridge (experience needed for these roles)
Our special events are a great opportunity for small groups and businesses looking to volunteer as a group.

Ages 16+ (younger volunteers may volunteer with a parent or guardian).
