Join us as we develop our Social Emotional Learning app for K-12 students, SELENA! Resilience, Inc. is looking for someone who will help to develop this app and is skilled in Java. Work closely with the Information Technology team and your supervisor as you gain experience in app development.

This internship requires at least a four-month commitment, with 5-10 hours per week and flexibility during week. Those pursuing school credit for the internship will be required to document their weekly contributions in order to receive academic credit.

Interns have the opportunity to earn a letter of recommendation upon completion of the internship. Plus, interns will earn work experience, the ability to help others, and have the opportunity to change the world by bringing social emotional learning and mental health tools to the world.

Academic credit may be available through your school for this experience.

Responsibilities:

Design, implement, test and release SELENA application.

Perform documentation and code reviews on developed modules on a regular basis.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

Work on bug fixing and improving application performance.

Qualifications (preferred, but not required):

Positive Attitude and eager to learn.

Five hours a week minimum.

Advanced knowledge of Java.

Prior app development experience.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

A quick learner and problem solver with a keen eye for detail.

Some educational institutions require prior approval before the start of an internship. It is the responsibility of the student to check with their institution to be sure they meet any requirements before they accept a position.

The organization focuses on offering Social Emotional Learning tools to enable K-12 schools to teach emotional intelligence through 5 core topics; self-awareness, self-control, social awareness, relationship management, goal setting & effective decision-making. Resilience also provides tools for acquiring and maintaining inspiration, hope, social beings, and overall well-being.
