We are a Florida based start up charity organization doing great work in the sickle cell disease community, as we train and provide medical advocates to patients in the emergency room and hospital, where they go to often. We need an accountant as we have just received our 501(c)(3) status in January and want to make sure that we are doing everything in accordance to what we should be complying with.We also have been doing our budget management on XL spreadsheet soon recently purchased QuickBooks, but need help setting up and navigating this software.

At Sickle Cell Medical Advocacy, a certified medical advocate will virtually accompany a patient with Sickle Cell disease into the hospital/ER during an acute pain crisis. The advocate provides updated national guidelines and other resources for Sickle Cell crisis management to healthcare providers for (who don’t learn them) in order to decrease length of sickle cell episode, days of hospital stay and incidence of organ damage.
We provide nutritional and mental health counsel in an effort to decrease re-hospitalization and keep patients healthy.
