Hospice addresses the needs of those at end of life, both the patient and their families by utilizing a staff of medical, social, and spiritual professionals. Volunteers are a key part of this team, being with patients and their families without an agenda other than being present and supportive.
The Volunteer Coordinator will meet with you for an interview to make sure this will be a good and safe experience. This is followed by an intensive training that includes all aspects of this process - physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and social. You will meet members of our team, hear stories that will help with understanding this process, and at the end, feel comfortable with your assignment.
Monthly supervision is provided (more if needed) for support and safety.
Guaranteed that you will learn more about yourself as this you embark and continue on this journey!
Volunteers and staff are asked to have proof of COVID vaccination unless they have a faith or physical exemption. Those who are not vaccinated are required to test weekly when seeing patients.
Assisteo has offices in the greater Phoenix and Prescott areas.
