Position Details

Hours:
Typically, Mon -Fri from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m.

Position Details:
Support program staff by helping with a teen night, the after-school program or tutor a teen.

Primary Duties

The Auburn Teen Center is looking for energetic individuals who are passionate about working with youth in a recreation setting to help with Late Night program and our after-school program.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assists with programs, events and activities organized by The REC staff.
  • Works cooperatively as a reliable team member.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, communication skills and teamwork in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Engage with participants through activities and projects
  • Be a positive role model/mentor
  • Monitor assigned areas in the REC
  • Lead games/activities
  • Encourage participation
  • Provide direction and discipline when necessary and enforce Teen Center Rules
  • Communicate effectively with youth, their families, and their supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Must pass a background check completed by the City of Auburn
  • Must have current First Aid and CPR certification, or be willing to obtain within the first 2 weeks.
