For 25 years, HOPE Tutoring has been offering free tutoring and academic enrichment services to low-income children in Arlington, Texas.
HOPE Tutoring needs volunteers to help with its summer math camp. This camp will be offered free of charge to children in grades 2-5 in Arlington. This year we are offering Math Mondays - meeting on Mondays from June 27 through August 1st from 10:00-11:30 a.m. at Epworth UMC Family Life Center, 1400 S Cooper in Arlington. (Note: We will not have Math Mondays on Monday, July 4th.)
Volunteers may sign up for all 5 Math Mondays or only certain Mondays as their schedules allow, but volunteers need to be able to commit to the dates they sign up for.
Each week will feature a different math theme with fun activities for the kids and some one-on-one time for tutors to help children transfer math concepts into solutions to math problems.
A 1/2 hour training session will be held in advance of the camp. You may choose from one of the following times:
- June 23 - 6:30-7:00 p.m. - Virtual Session
- June 25 - 10:30-11:00 a.m. - Epworth UMC Family Life Center, 1400 S Cooper, Arlington
All volunteers must complete a criminal background check and review our handbook.

Description
H.O.P.E. is a community-wide, non-profit organization that partners with local churches, public libraries, and Arlington ISD, which provide facilities for our volunteers to tutor elementary and junior high students during the school year. We also offer virtual tutoring. During the summer, H.O.P.E. offers summer camps focused on math, reading, science, computers and music.
