ORGANIZATION: Alzheimer's Association, Colorado Chapter

We are in need of help with spreading the word on all of our fundraising and volunteer opportunities. This can range from weekly classes, monthly support groups and 6-8 events per year. Some of our events include teh Walk to End Alzheimer's, The Longest Day, RIV/ALZ (flag football event) the Ride to end Alzheimer's, The Purple Gala and more. Please let us know if this is something that you can give 3-5 hours per month to.

Mission Statement

We lead Colorado in the fight against Alzheimer's disease and related disorders by increasing the understanding of dementia and its impact on family and community, providing information and support for those affected, and promoting the advancement of research.

Description

The Alzheimer's Association Colorado Chapter works with diagnosed individuals, families, caregivers and health care professionals to provide care and support for those who are affected by Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. We provide a 24/7 Helpline; offer free and confidentail Care Consultations; manage 90 support groups monthly; oversee Memories in the Making art program in area nursing homes; present educational programs across the state; and assist in enrolling persons with the disease in safety programs. We offer culturally approptiate support for Latinos, African Americans and the LGBT community. Several time during the year we have fundraising events, including: The Walk to END Alzheimer's, The Longest Day, the Memories in the Making Gala and Riv/ALZ.
