The 8,500 square foot Ronald McDonald House will provide many amenities for families in addition to the eleven overnight suites with full baths, including a laundry room, kitchen, and fully stocked pantry, dining room, playroom with outdoor playground, media room, and covered porch for relaxing. Located on the campus of Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, next to the Labor & Delivery Tower, families will be walking distance away from their child during their hospital stay.

The primary responsibility of a guest services volunteer is to assist in providing a "home-away-from-home" for families of ill or injured children. Our volunteers do a little bit of everything, including checking-in families, baking desserts, restocking rooms, light housekeeping, answering phones, assisting with mailing, data entry, and more.

Generally, our volunteers commit to at least one three-hour shift each week and must be at least 18 years of age. The House in Fort Smith operates 24 hours a day with staff and volunteers.

Mission Statement

The mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) is to create, find and support programs that directly improve the health and well being of children. We believe that when you change a child’s life, you change a family’s, which can change a community, and ultimately the world.

Description

At Ronald McDonald House Charities of Arkoma, we believe in fostering the well-being and progress of young lives. Through our programs, we're helping to ensure a brighter future for the generation of tomorrow. We currently provide dental care to children through our Ronald McDonald Care Mobile and a "home-away-from-home" for families of ill or injured children through our Ronald McDonald Family Rooms in Fort Smith and Rogers and in Fayetteville through our Ronald McDonald House. We appreciate the support and investment of the community!
