Overview

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who love children and want to help them discover the joy of STEAM! Docents serve as a host in the exhibit, creating a welcoming atmosphere and actively engaging children in the various activities. Enrich and educate visitors on STEM principles through demonstration, hands on play, and conversation. Our Lego Robotics exhibit has multiple robots operated by both tablets and headsets, as well as other hands-on activities for children to engage with. Volunteers should be motivated to maintain a working knowledge of exhibit activities and willing to adjust their approach based on age level and background.

Duties

• Greet and Welcome visitors
• Engage children in hands on Robotics Exhibits
• Guide visitors through Robotics activities
• Educate children on STEM principles through hands on play and active conversation
• Maintain cleanliness of exhibits
• Ensure all technology is properly functioning and troubleshoot as necessary

Skills

• Positive attitude and Friendly Disposition
• Ability to provide excellent Customer Service
• Loves working with children
• Comfortable initiating conversation and speaking with groups
• Comfortable with technology/ basic troubleshooting
• Experience teaching or STEM background preferred but not required
