Sew We Work is offering a new and exciting opportunity for people who want to learn how to sew, to improve their sewing skills, and learn new techniques, like how to read and lay out a pattern, how to use a sewing machine.
The volunteer opportunity is for different types of volunteers - those who know how to sew and want to help students. We also need volunteers to prepare snacks and a simple lunch. All different types of sewing skills as volunteers are welcome. Sewing machines, fabric and patterns as well as sewing supplies provided for students to learn on.
Students will range in age from 12 years old to ??? If possible, we'll offer beginner sewing, garment sewing, quilting, and surface design.

Mission Statement
To teach disadvantaged persons or persons who live in poverty how to sew and craft with the possibility of earning an income. SWW has partenered with PPL providing sewing classes to several of their residents. I've been sewing for over 60 years, taught by my mother. I have amassed lots of sewing machines as well as fabric and supplies. My passion is showing people how to sew and craft, watching them feel good about their accomplishments.
