Do you enjoy planning community events? Do you have a passion for serving vulnerable families? Would you like to work with a dynamic group of volunteers to raise awareness and funds to support local and global hunger needs? We need your talent, skills, and energy to plan the Richmond CROP Hunger Walk. The CROP Hunger Walk is a community walk-a-thon hosted by the global organization Church World Service and organized by local community volunteers. Funds benefit local hunger fighting organizations and the global mission of Church World Service. The 2023 walk is scheduled for Sunday, November 12th and we need people to assist with publicity (both with print and social media), recruiting walk teams, soliciting corporate donations, and assisting with logistics prior to and on walk day. The time commitment is a monthly meeting and follow up on requested tasks as needed (ie. Create social media posts, calls to recruit volunteer teams, put up signs around the community, etc.). Join us in support of the CROP movement that is helping to end hunger and poverty in our community and around the world.

Description
The CROP Hunger Walk is a nationwide movement sponsored by Church World Service to raise funds to end hunger and poverty in the U.S. and around the world. Hundreds of religious groups, businesses, schools and others organize local Walk events in their communities each year, while others join the National Walk and choose their own location and experience. Richmond has participated in the CROP Walk since 1970. Twenty-five percent of the money raised in the walk stays here in our community to support local agencies.
