At MIA, Mujeres Iniciando en las Américas, we are a nonprofit organization focused on both creating and providing gender-based preventative education in Guatemala. This can include anything from proposing child sexual abuse prevention laws, to teaching courses/programs on gender-inclusive writing and feminism, to providing abused women with resources and options.

Someone comfortable and experienced in social media, advertising, and marketing who would be able to take our nonprofit to the next level. We would love someone who is both passionate and fun, and further is able to convey that through their writing!

Responsibilities:

  • Authoring MIA's social media posts for Facebook and LinkedIn.
  • Consistently posting on Facebook and LinkedIn (typically twice weekly).
  • Creating an Instagram account for MIA.
  • Creating a TikTok account for MIA.
  • After creation of those accounts, authoring posts and posting on Instagram and TikTok, as well.
  • Promoting MIA overall.

Job Specifics:

  • This is a volunteer position, and therefore is NOT paid.
  • MIA will endorse, sign, and overall vouch for volunteer hours, as well as author recommendation letters if needed.
  • This is a remote position.
  • You can choose your own hours, as long as the posts are uploaded at a reasonable time.
  • Occasional meetings with the organization's Founder & Director are required, but will be counted with volunteer hours.
  • Bonus if you are bilingual: English and Spanish!
  • Travel opportunities are available, but not required!

This is a great opportunity to improve your resume, and impress colleges or future jobs! We understand that this is a busy world, but this position is a very flexible way to participate in some meaningful volunteer work.
