Mission Statement
MIA, Mujeres Iniciando en las Américas, strives to create, educate, sustain a gender equality movement for Guatemalan women and girls, and eradicate feminicide, domestic and intimate partner violence, sexual assault, child abuse, and state-supported gender violence impunity, all while promoting gender equity through collaborative relationships between men and women forged through inclusive community and school-based gender-transformative programs.

MIA, Mujeres Iniciando en las Américas is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization which is focused on gender-based preventative education in Guatemala.
MIA, Mujeres Iniciando en las Américas' Vision:
MIA, Mujeres Iniciando en las Américas, imagines a world where women and girls in Guatemala are free from gender-based violence, and where gender and abuse-related prevention education is taught to men and women, in all primary, secondary, and higher education institutions.
MIA, Mujeres Iniciando en las Américas' Statement of Purpose:
MIA, Mujeres Iniciando en las Américas’ purpose is to create a world where Guatemalan women and girls are not subject to abuse at the hands of men, and where this issue is remedied by prevention education at the juvenile stage, as well as the integration of men and boys into the solution.
