LightBridge is proud to be the first hospice program in San Diego County specifically dedicated to the needs and concerns of the Jewish community through the Ohr Ami program.

Ohr Ami is a Hebrew phrase meaning "Light of My People," which strives to be a living embodiment of the Jewish value of hesed, loving-kindness. Our commitment is to bring to patients and their loved ones physical, emotional and spiritual support, all within a Jewish context.

An essential part of our Ohr Ami Program is our volunteers! Ohr Ami volunteers go out and provide companionship and support to our Jewish patients and their family members. This is a wonderful way to give back to the community and support patients through their end of life journey.

At LightBridge Hospice Community Foundation our passion is funding exceptional programs that enhance the end of life journey for patients and their families throughout San Diego.

Description

Unique and special programs and services, not covered by insurance, created to enhance the hospice journey for patients include:

  • Simple Gifts - Fulfilling Simple Dreams and Wishes
  • Veteran Honor Ceremonies - to recognize patients for their military service to our country
  • Integrative Therapies:
    • Supportive Music
    • Healing Touch TM
    • Pet Therapy
    • Aromatherapy
  • Music and Memory Program
  • Day of Respite - Giving care to those who are the caregivers
  • Care for Those in Need who otherwise have no hospice benefit
