Ohr Ami - Jewish Hospice Volunteer
ORGANIZATION: LIGHTBRIDGE HOSPICE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
Please visit the new page to apply.
LightBridge is proud to be the first hospice program in San Diego County specifically dedicated to the needs and concerns of the Jewish community through the Ohr Ami program.
Ohr Ami is a Hebrew phrase meaning "Light of My People," which strives to be a living embodiment of the Jewish value of hesed, loving-kindness. Our commitment is to bring to patients and their loved ones physical, emotional and spiritual support, all within a Jewish context.
What is unique about Ohr Ami?
Spiritual care and guidance are provided to the patient and/or family by a rabbi, who is also a resource for information regarding Jewish rituals and traditions and provides assistance in dealing with end-of-life concerns within a Jewish context.
LightBridge is also proud to have the support of our wonderful Ohr Ami volunteers, who provide companionship and comfort to our Jewish patients during their time on Hospice.
