This is a full-time volunteer opportunity. Housing is included in the form of an RV/trailer site.
Description: Full time interpretive volunteer (or couple) needed to assist with interpretation services on the west side of Mount Rainier National Park (Longmire and Paradise). The successful applicant(s) will work a minimum of 36 hours per week (combined 36 hours if a couple) for 16 weeks.
Volunteer(s) will primarily work at busy information desks inside Longmire Museum and Henry M Jackson Visitor Center at Paradise providing information/interpretive services to park visitors. Other optional duties can include roving informal interpretation and facilitating an interpretive program. Training provided. CDC Covid safety guidelines will be followed.
We are a fun group to work with! Come and enjoy/share this crown jewel of the NPS with visitors this summer!
Successful completion of a federal investigative background check is required.
NOTE: A self-contained RV/Travel trailer or local residence is required for this position.
Housing and reimbursement: Housing trailer pad for up to 40' RV/trailer available (paid by program). Up to $20 per day expenses reimbursement provided (receipts required).
Dates and time requirement: Target dates are for 16 weeks: May 22- September 9. However, start and end dates are negotiable.
