POSITION SUMMARY
To assist with the smooth operation of the office, filling needs specified by the various departments. Duties can vary depending on the degree of expertise the volunteer has to fill specific needs.
RESPONSIBILITES & FUNCTIONS
* Typing/Data Entry
* Scanning/Filing
* Running office errands
* Assisting with mailings
* Distributing print materials including flyers, posters, hospice brochures, etc.
* Assisting with community outreach events
* Other duties as assigned
* Phone calls to patients/volunteers to collect information/fill volunteer need
* Notify Volunteer Services of weekly schedule availability
* Complete all required documentation annually (HIPAA/Patient Rights/PPD/Flu Shot)
RELATIONSHIPS
Establish and maintain good rapport with Hospice of Charles County staff and volunteers
Supervised by: Staff Member requesting their assistance
Volunteers Supervised: None
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum education: Hospice of Charles County Administrative Training
Required licensure or certification: None required
Minimum experience: None required
Skills required: Dependability, flexibility, ability to prioritize, ability to work well with others, and understand hospice philosophy.
Physical demands: Sitting for extended periods of time
Equipment needed: Any necessary equipment will be given
Working conditions: Office environment
Roles, Responsibilities, Expectations
As a Medicare-certified hospice, we are mandated to include Volunteers as an important part of our organization. We are required to have at least 5% of our patient service hours provided by Volunteers.
Every year our Volunteers provide thousands of hours of service for our patients. The value of time is priceless in the eyes of our patients and their families.
Volunteer tasks can be patient related or non-patient related.
