OSITION SUMMARY To provide comfort and nurturance through music for the patients and their families. RESPONSIBILITES & FUNCTIONS * Complete Hospice of Charles County music in hospice orientation program * Provide instrument * Respond to requests for music; once matched contact the family within 24 hours to coordinate visit * Arrive on time for scheduled visits; have positive interaction with those receiving service * Complete volunteer visit progress notes within 24 hours of each visit * Notify Volunteer Services of weekly schedule availability, as well as scheduled visits * Attend at least one in-service training session annually * Complete all required documentation annually (HIPAA/Patient Rights/PPD/Flu Shot) * Contact Hospice of the Chesapeake Triage immediately to report: incidents, uncontrolled pain, breathing problems, falls or any other concerns * Maintain confidentiality stands RELATIONSHIPS Establish and maintain good rapport with Hospice of Charles County staff, volunteers, patients, and their families Supervised by: Volunteer Services Manager Volunteers Supervised: None MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Minimum education: Hospice of Charles County Patient Care Training Required licensure or certification: None Minimum experience: None required Skills required: Dependability, flexibility, good listener, open-minded and non-judgmental, and the ability to remain calm under stressful conditions Physical demands: Can be emotional, stressful Equipment needed: Access to an automobile, personal protective equipment (PPE) Working conditions: May be exposed to infectious and contagious agents.
