The Evelyn Rubenstein JCC needs help to deliver hot nutritious meals to homebound seniors each week.
We have 30 routes that deliver 2,000 meals to over 500 homebound older adults every weekday, and volunteers are the ones who make it happen.

As a volunteer, you can:

  • Choose your own schedule, Monday-Friday. Select one day, multiple days, volunteer with us weekly, monthly or just once!
  • Receive community service hours
  • Volunteer as an individual or bring a friend, your kids or family member to volunteer with you!
  • Volunteer in the morning from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Sign up to volunteer online
  • Form lasting relationships with our amazing clients and their pets!

What should you expect volunteering with Meals on Wheels?
  • Head to the J to pick up meals and your route
  • Routes are designed to make delivery as easy and enjoyable as possible
  • Follow your route, deliver meals and get to know amazing people
  • Head back to the J, drop off your equipment and feel great the rest of the day!

To qualify to volunteer, you must:
  • Be 18 or older
  • Have a valid driver’s license
  • Have valid car insurance
  • Pass a background check (we request it online & pay for it)
  • *If you’re under 18, you’re welcome to tag along with a parent/guardian who meets the above criteria. Our clients love when youth join in!
