The Evelyn Rubenstein JCC needs help to deliver hot nutritious meals to homebound seniors each week.
Due to COVID-19, the amount of food insecure seniors has increased by more than 20% and we've stepped up by increasing our delivery days from 3 to 5 days per week - and we need volunteers!
As a volunteer, you can:
- Choose your own schedule, Monday-Friday. Select one day, multiple days, volunteer with us weekly, monthly or just once!
- Receive community service hours
- Volunteer as an individual or bring a friend, your kids or family member to volunteer with you!
- Volunteer in the morning from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
- Sign up to volunteer online
- Form lasting relationships with our amazing clients and their pets!
What should you expect volunteering with Meals on Wheels?
- Head to the J to pick up meals and your route
- Routes are designed to make delivery as easy and enjoyable as possible
- Follow your route, deliver meals and get to know amazing people
- Head back to the J, drop off your equipment and feel great the rest of the day!
To qualify to volunteer, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old or volunteer with a guardian
- Have access to a vehicle and ability to drive a route
- Wear a mask while delivering
