Position Summary

The Director of Safety and Security is responsible for the protection of JAARS staff, physical assets, proprietary information and reputation. This position establishes and oversees JAARS safety and security programs and provides strategic planning support to JAARS leadership.

Position Responsibilities

• Design and implement safety and security programs, policies and procedures to provide a safe and secure environment for staff and visitors on the JAARS campus and for staff traveling or working globally
• Protect JAARS assets and information
• Support senior leadership in strategic planning
• Lead safety and security teams
• Specify and select integrated security systems
• Comply with regulatory workplace safety requirements
• Plan and manage program budget
• Select and manage security service providers and liaise with government and regulatory agencies

Position Requirements

• A deep and growing walk with the Lord Jesus that includes your personal spiritual growth and the ability to support others in their spiritual growth

• Demonstrated expertise and relevant experience in developing and managing safety and security programs
• Ability to make critical decisions under pressure in emergency situations; be experienced in coordinating/directing multi-faceted, multi-level response efforts in times of crisis
• Have a global perspective, able to work multi-culturally and collaboratively
• Be a person of character and conviction with the ability to lead and motivate your team and influence others through godly character, not manipulation
• Be able to develop and give briefing and training presentations
• Have excellent oral and written communication skills
