Volunteer photographer /artist may work independently to document the park and associated events, phenomena, etc. When photographing the park, volunteer photographers must adhere to all safety standards and prevention measure outlined in the Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and comply with all park closures and restrictions, unless specifically permitted their supervisor or record and accompanied by a park employee.


Volunteers are expected to wear identifying clothing (DEWA Volunteer Uniform items) to indicate their volunteer status and proper personal protective equipment (PPE) depending on the activity they are performing.


Images taken and donated as a volunteer photographer/artist will be considered the property of the park and federal government with full use rights, including publishing to public domain sites unless alternative use rights are requested by the volunteer. Unless explicitly excluded, uses may include, but are not limited to, park publications or waysides, visuals for public or educational programs, promotional material, educational materials, internal documents, social media, NPS websites, and photo sharing sites.
