Equally Yoked Foundation is a privately-funded nonprofit organization that works to raise awareness in and of the black community in an effort to unify all cultures for a healthier more diverse future for our children and our children’s children. We support and serve with organizations and people invested in building stronger and healthier families by creating spaces that educate and unify all people.

Overview of Program:

Are you inspired by the mission of unifying all cultures? Are you looking to build your personal portfolio of photos? We need your skills! Equally Yoked Foundation is seeking photographers to help showcase the beauty, diversity and complexities of the world we live in. There are multiple opportunities geared towards celebrating various ethnicities and cultures. We need your creativity to raise awareness of the work we do and create healthy spaces.

How the Program works:
  1. As a volunteers you will shoot targets from the priority list as well as tell a story with your photos of the beauty of diversity.
    1. Special events, volunteer presence will be on a first-come, first-serve registration basis.
    2. Volunteers will sign an agreement that promises to share their photos within 24 hours of the event to the Event Department at interracial@weareequallyyoked.org
  2. Your work will make a visible difference in how we are able to communicate the mission and passion behind Equally Yoked Foundation. You will be given credit wherever possible.
Expected Time Commitment:

From beginning to the end of the event. This opportunity adheres to the CDC social distancing guidelines.

  • In-kind tax acknowledgment letter for the market value of your time/photographs
  • Use of photos for personal portfolio and regular feedback on the usability of photos for EY marketing efforts
  • Giving back to the place you call home(KC Metro Area)helps to unite the community and bridge some of the social, economic and political gaps.
To apply:
  1. If you are interested in the Volunteer Photographer Program, please contact the Event Department interracial@weareequallyyoked.org to schedule a brief screening call.
    1. While previous experience is not required, samples of your past photos are encouraged.
    2. At least one personal reference is required.
  2. After the screening call, we will review samples of photographer’s work and contact their provided reference
  3. If selected, you will be notified.
We appreciate you and thank you for your interest. We know you are an expert at your craft and we appreciate your skills. Your work will be beneficial in moving the needle forward and spreading a great cause.

There is no better advertisement for your work than being seen by others doing your work. We encourage you to bring your business cards/flyers to the event. You may photograph a bank president, business owner or parent who may very well need your services somewhere down the road. Please focus on photographing at the event however meeting these kinds of people as you are volunteering your time is an exciting way to make a great first impression.

  • Must be at least 17
