VITAS Healthcare is currently looking for a Patient Care/Housekeeping Volunteer to help a home hospice patient with light housekeeping assistance. Patient Care/Housekeeping volunteers can support patients and families through assisting with tasks such as taking out the trash, washing dishes or doing a load of laundry. These simple tasks can become difficult for a patient and/or family member when approaching the end of life. A Housekeeping/Patient Care Volunteer really makes a difference during this crucial time for a home patient.
We are specifically looking for a Patient Care/Housekeeping Volunteer one weekday morning a week for approximately 2 hours to assist a home hospice patient living in Barnhart, MO 63012. VITAS Healthcare provides comprehensive training and orientation for hospice volunteering. Days and times are flexible according to your availability. Any time you are willing to contribute as a volunteer is greatly appreciated.
Please note, all Volunteer applicants in patient facing positions are required to have completed their COVID vaccinations prior to hire in order to volunteer at VITAS. Description
Volunteers are the heart of VITAS Healthcare, providing friendly, non- medical support to hospice patients and their family or offering support services in the office. We are seeking caring and compassionate individuals to volunteers for our patients in their homes or in nursing facilities in the community.
