Are you looking for volunteer opportunities that get you up and moving? We are looking for friendly and physically able volunteers to join our team warehouse team.
Pike Market Food Bank serves hundreds of people every week, providing pick-up groceries, deliveries, and to-go snack bags. To make these operations stocked and running, we rely on an awesome team of volunteers and staff in the warehouse to handle our donation and keep supply rotation sorted, organized and tidy.
We particularly need: Monday and Thursday Helpers who specialize in Heavy Lifting
When: Weekly - Monday or Thursday - mornings/early afternoon
IDEAL VOLUNTEERS ARE...
- Fully Vaccinated
- Comfortable with frequent heavy lifting (up to 50lb standing)
- Able to take direction well
- Interested in physical work that gets you up and moving around
- Work and communicate well with others to reach a common goal
- Do well in both team-oriented and self-paced environments
WE WILL...
- Schedule an interview session to explain the role
- Provide an orientation
- Provide training and guidance as needed

In downtown Seattle, the Pike Market Senior Center strives to make each day better and safer for older adults; the Pike Market Food Bank serves people of all ages who face hunger. Together, we provide services, activities, and support that lead to more self sufficient and fulfilling lives.
Description
The Pike Market Senior Center & Food Bank is located in the historic Pike Place Market. We have been serving our neighbors in the heart of Seattle since 1978.
The Senior Center serves people age 55 and up. Membership is free and there are no fees for meals, services or regular activities. While people from all walks of life are members of PMSC, we are pioneers in offering senior center programming to elders who are homeless.
The Food Bank serves people of any age, offering free groceries, ready-to-eat food for clients experiencing homelessness, and home delivery for qualified residents of Downtown Seattle. We serve 800 in-person grocery clients weekly and distribute over 300 grocery deliveries.
