Are you looking to create an impact in your community by helping Women of Color career changers learn new tech skills? Currently, WOC only make up a small percentage of the tech community and we are looking to increase those numbers by teaching WOC advanced technology and leadership skills so they gain economic empowerment.

Philly Tech Sistas is looking for a Subject Matter Expert who can work with an instructional designer to develop a UX Design workshop for our Sisters Learning Code curriculum. Our target audience is Women of Color ages 20-50 looking to gain new skills and knowledge in order to continue to grow in their lives and careers.

Philly Tech Sistas currently provides an HTML/CSS/JS workshop series that focuses on front-end web development. We are now looking to add a second workshop series focusing on UX design.

As a result of this UX Design workshop series, we would like attendees to walk away with the beginnings of their own UX portfolio. The structure of the workshop series should also include peer-to-peer learning activities and meet current industry practices.

Responsibilities include:

• Creating lecture slides with speaker notes
• Developing resources and/or activities/exercises
• Potentially designing visual aides
• Create workflows and processes for our Instructors to ensure smooth program delivery
• Potentially attend a test run-through of the updated curriculum

• We work off Eastern Standard Time
• We do not have set hours per week
• We have bi-weekly check-ins
• We work with volunteers to manage your hours to meet check-ins
• All volunteering positions will be held virtual (Zoom)
• This is a remote volunteer opportunity (you can work from anywhere in the US) provided you have a computer and a reliable internet connection.
• This opportunity is flexible. However, we will work on the deadlines needed to ensure successful program delivery
