ORGANIZATION: Monumental Impact

In our makerspace high school students have an opportunity to explore their interests in technology and engineering. Our nonprofit offers high school students internships under our social enterprise to Go-To-Market with their product, service or event ideas. In our facility D38's Bearbotics FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Team 4068 and FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) teams (#s 19541, 19970 and 20771) hold their team meetings and build their competitive robots. We also offer Open Build times for high school students to come in to explore projects. Starting in 2022 we will begin offering Summer Camps to provide opportunities for younger students to be inspired to continue their interests in technology and engineering. Mentors are available to students with their projects and / or they can share projects that they are doing at work or as a hobby to encourage student interests in these fields.

In this volunteer opportunity as a Fundraising Campaign Manager you will be helping raise funds for our programs and programs that are in our space like D38's Bearbotics. Our goal is to build a community environment that is welcoming and provide opportunities for students to explore their interests in technology and engineering. This can range from either funding or coordinating with parents of student community members for snacks during team meetings to raising funds to provide shared equipment and resources. Another area is raising funds to enable a group of students to either compete at an event or go to an industry conference. Raising funds can be a collaborative effort with students. Sponsorships can be explored. As a 501c3 additional matching funds can be setup and all be promoted with employers to raise funds.

We currently reside within the East Rooms at the Grace Best Facility owned by D38. Currently there are limitations in our space for growth and capabilities. D38 has identified that they intend to make changes to the building, but we are assuming that these changes will not occur until at least 2 years out due to D38 funding.

We are open to what you are able to offer. ;-) Thank you for considering. We looking forward to you joining our team!

Location:

55 Adams Street, Monument, CO 80132, US

Mission Statement

To enable and support the growing talent and passion of high school students in Technology, Engineering and Entrepreneurship with Experiences and Community.

Description

We were founded in January 2020. We have a MOU with Lewis Palmer School District 38 for educational outcomes and use of 3500 square footage of space at the Grace Best Facility. We have a shared space with Bearbotics FRC Team 4068. We provide internships for our social enterprise, open builds, network events, industry tours, mentoring opportunities and exhibitions. We have a Board of Directors with two year terms.

Our Vision is to provide a shared space with the equipment, resources and a mentoring community of support that provides opportunities for industry experiences for individual students and the capabilities to enable student programs in technology, engineering and entrepreneurship. We are open to hosting businesses and their work-based learning opportunities in our space to provide students more experiences.
