Make a difference in the life of someone nearing the end of their journey. Registered Therapy Dog teams needed to provide friendly visits and canine companionship to patients living with a terminal illness. Teams also provide a calm presence to patients and their family members.
Our hospice companion volunteers visit with our patients a few times a month. These visits provide companionship to our patients and for patients living at home our volunteers provide much needed relief to primary caregivers to take some time for self-care. We believe volunteers are a vital part to the patient care team as they provide comfort and companionship to the patient like no other. At Transitions Hospice, we hold ourselves to the highest standards in hospice and palliative care. We specialize in supporting individuals and families who are facing the physical, emotional, social and spiritual challenges confronted when dealing with terminal illness. Hospice care neither prolongs nor shortens life. Our objective is to maximize our patients’ comfort and quality of life during the time they have remaining.
