Mission Statement

Code Savvy is focused on inclusive computer science education. Our mission is to interrupt and counteract existing gender, racial, and socioeconomic gaps in computing by equipping youth and educators with the knowledge, skills, and support to create with technology.

Description

By focusing on ensuring access to technology and computational thinking skills, we envision a world where individuals in every community have the tools and skills to use and create the technology they need.

We have three main areas of focus through our targeted programs:

  • EDUCATE: Educator Professional Development and Computer Science Curriculum Development - MNCodes Educator Cohort, Coaching for Equity in Computer Science, and our annual MNCodes Summit. Partnered with Code.org.
  • EXPERIENCE: Extended Cohort Learning in Software Development - Technovation Girls MN, Byte-Sized Challenge, and more!
