Serve On Our Team
The Service Veterans of Northern California Volunteer Honor Guard continually seeks to recruit both military and non-military volunteers who would consider it a privilege to render military funeral honors for the men and women who have sacrificed for our country.
The SVNC Volunteer Honor Guard is a voluntary commitment, members receive no monetary compensation.
Service Veterans of Northern California Volunteer Honor Guard is comprised of both military and non-military volunteers who have a strong commitment to uphold a time-honored tradition of providing final military honors to all eligible members of the U.S. Armed Forces. The SVNC Volunteer Honor Guard serves the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery and surrounding cemeteries.
This is an ongoing volunteer commitment and volunteers are asked to participate at least two days (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday) per month. Hours will vary between 9am and 3pm. We will provide training and uniform, except footwear which may be reimbursed after one year of service.
Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years old.
Be persons of good character, maturity, and judgment.
Be physically able to perform tasks that require standing, walking, and lifting light objects (10 lbs.)
Successfully complete the selection process.
Successfully complete orientation and training.
Regularly commit to a minimum of two service days per month of their choice (M, T, TH, or F)
Non-rifle team, work from home and administrative support positions available.

Mission Statement
The purpose of the Service Veterans of Northern California Volunteer Honor Guard is to augment the respective military service branches and assist in administering full and complete military honors to veterans who have served this country and are being interred at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery and surrounding cemeteries.
Description
The SVNC Volunteer Honor Guard is a congressionally recognized organization primarily serving the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon. We perform over 700 military honor services annually at no cost to the family of the deceased, regularly providing the three rifle-volley salute during the performance of military honors.
