Mi Casa Resource Center is seeking volunteers to help members of our community build their language skills in our English as a Second Language (ESL) course.

English as a Second Language (ESL) is a twelve-week course designed to help non-native English speakers build the confidence and fluency they need to communicate effectively in academic, professional, and social settings. Classes are in-person, with one beginner-level section and one intermediate-level section offered concurrently.

ESL Instructors work as a team with the help of Teaching Assistants to provide a mix of large-group instruction, small-group support, and one-on-one tutoring. All curriculum and materials are provided by the organization.

Instructors are primarily responsible for delivering the daily lesson plan. Duties include mastering the curriculum and class materials, leading out on large-group instruction, and managing class progress throughout the duration of the course.

Session - ESL Summer 2024
May 7th to July 27th

Tuesdays 5:30 PM to 7 PM
Thursdays 5:30 PM to 7 PM
Saturdays 10 AM to 12 PM

Teaching experience is preferred, and Instructors should be able to engage respectfully and warmly with adult students from a multicultural background. Spanish-language skills are highly useful.

Classes are offered three times per week - Instructors will be asked to commit to serving at one class consistently per week for most weeks of the session. Notice can be given for travel or other planned commitments.
