ORGANIZATION: United Way of Martin County/AmeriCorps Seniors

Volunteer United/AmeriCorps Seniors is a program of United Way that recruits volunteers for non-profit agencies in Martin County.

The mission of the organization where this opportunity is located is to provide gently used clothing, new shoes, sock and underwear, as well as literacy services at not cost to low income children in Martin County.

A volunteer or a group is needed to commit to ONE month to pick up clothing donations from 10 bins at local schools in Martin County. Using their personal vehicles, they travel to the different locations, gather the bags of clothing and return to the agency unload. Each of the ten locations must be picked up weekly before the gates of the schools are locked at 5:00 PM or 6:00 PM, depending on the location.

Training is available. GREAT FOR STUDENTS SEEKING VOLUNTEER HOURS.
