ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross of Idaho and Montana

Help make a difference by delivering blood products to someone who needs them to live. Volunteer Transportation Specialists deliver blood donations from collection locations to the processing center and out to hospitals where it can be used to save lives. As a Transportation Specialist, you are a vital part of saving millions of lives each year by simply driving blood products where they need to go in our region.

Requirements: Position requires a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to lift approximately 45 pounds. Most routes travel between cities (often several hours away), so we are in significant need of volunteers who would be willing and able to drive in winter conditions.

Time Commitment: Route lengths and times vary, but routes average 4-8 hours roundtrip. We ask for a willingness to commit to 2 or more shifts per month. As a volunteer, you will have the ability to sign up for the days, times, and routes that work best for your needs.
