Vision Loss Alliance of NJ has been in existence since 1943. We provide live and virtual programs for adults living with vision loss and blindness. We are looking for a virtual bilingual translator who can speak English/Spanish and provide occasional translation over a phone call or Zoom meeting that will deliver information and education to participants. Must have pleasant interpersonal skills, and clear communication skills.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to empower individuals who are blind or low vision. We do this by providing support, education, skills training, assistive technology and employment opportunities for people of all ages.
Description
Vision Loss Alliance of New Jersey is a 75 year strong organization which started as a summer camp for blind women and has transformed into an organization that provides training in vision rehabilitation skills, mobile technology (iPad and iPhone) as well as classes to improve psycho-social and physical well being. We are the only nonprofit organization that provides these services to the blind and low vision community in the state of New Jersey. Since our founding we have helped over 50,000 individuals and their families to remain independent. We recently introduced low vision services, which will provide the skills training through an Occupational Therapist, and like our organization is the only one of its kind in New Jersey. Our primary client base is adults over the age of 50, which has the fastest growing population of low vision individuals. At present we serve 1,200 individuals on an annual basis through direct service and outreach programs.
