  • Purpose This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) Division (DIV) Volunteer Services (VS) department. This is a 100% virtual (volunteer-from-home) opportunity. This position supports the Volunteer Services (VS) team at the Divisional (DIV) level. This is remote (volunteer-from-home opportunity). The Division Volunteer Services Volunteer Connection Lead oversees the utilization and access of Volunteer Connection, the official American Red Cross volunteer engagement system. This position serves as a subject matter expert (SME) on Volunteer Connection to provide support to the DVSE.
  • Responsibilities
    • Serve as a champion of Volunteer Connection
    • Provide expert support and guidance to regional and divisional teams in the proper and maximized utilization of Volunteer Connection
    • Conduct Volunteer Connection training, using official American Red Cross training materials for volunteers and volunteer supervisors
    • Serve as a Volunteer Connection expert
    • Provide data and analysis to DVSE to help maintain accurate information within the database
    • Provide leadership and delegation to team members if necessary
  • Qualifications
    • Enthusiastic about Red Cross mission and programs - required
    • Proven leadership in nonprofit or for-profit organizations - required
    • Cultural sensitivity to diverse audiences - required
    • Knowledge and understanding of Red Cross services and operations and opportunities for volunteer service - required
    • Work well both individually and with others - required
    • Prior experience using Volunteer Connection administrative functions - required
    • Relationship building skills working collaboratively with staff/volunteer partners - required
    • Understand the value of volunteers and provide leadership and support to ensure volunteers are productive and have a mutually rewarding experience - required
    • Strong computer skills, preferred database knowledge - required
    • Independently driven and well-organized - required
    • Prior experience using Microsoft Excel - required
    • Prior experience using Microsoft Access - preferred
    • Prior experience using Microsoft Teams - preferred
    • Reliable access to resources needed to volunteer 100% virtually
