- Purpose This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) Services to Armed Forces (SAF) department. This is a 100% virtual (volunteer-from-home) opportunity.. The Military Veteran Caregiver Network (MVCN) Caregiver Communicator will help maintain and amplify the MVCN caregiver communication, as well as help community members, on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
- Responsibilities
The MVCN Caregiver Communicator Volunteer will assist with MVCN’s presence on social media. In addition, the volunteer will be responsible for event outreach, including creating events on Facebook, creating social media toolkit for MVCN partners, and drafting messaging and content for multi-channel dissemination.
- Qualifications
Required:
- Experience using Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel
- Regularly check email and have regular internet access
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in using social media sites
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Current connection to the military or veteran community
- Currently have personal accounts and regularly use social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
- Reliable access to resources needed to volunteer 100% virtually
Preferred:
- Experience with Department of Defense (DoD), Veterans Affairs (VA), and veterans service organizations
- Length of Appointment
Minimum 6 month commitment, renewable
