Catholic Social Services Nurturing Families Program
Become trained to share parenting skills with at-risk parents and children in a relaxed way, either in-person or over Zoom. In-person visits include playing with children, listening to and supporting single mothers in challenging situations. Must be able to work with diverse people and beliefs systems. Those with experience as teachers, social workers, or raising several children are great but we will train the right volunteer.
Volunteers are matched with one family who they will visit 1 day a week. Time is flexible between the family and the volunteer, based on their mutual availability (families typically want to meet 10:00 am - 5:00 pm and Monday-Friday only). There are also weekly supervision support/team meetings for volunteers which will be set at an agreeable time for the group. "
