Title: Front Desk/Reception Volunteer

Objective:
To provide front desk support at Harbor Light Center, The Salvation Army’s residential treatment program for men ages 18+ with substance abuse disorders, located at 865 W. North Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15233.

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Answer the phone
  2. Check residents in and out of the building
  3. Assist with clerical work as needed
  4. Maintain confidentiality of persons residing at the Center

Qualifications:

  1. Have at least a high school diploma or G.E.D.
  2. Dependable
  3. Positive, friendly attitude in assisting clients and talking on the phone

Intake and Training:

  1. Complete a Statement of Volunteers form
  2. Complete The Salvation Army’s clearance process, which includes a Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse History Clearance, and fingerprint-based federal criminal history
  3. Training for the position will be provided by Harbor Light staff

Time Commitment:
Looking for multiple volunteers who can help cover the hours from 4 PM to midnight, Tuesday through Saturday
