About Us: Educate. Radiate. Elevate. (E.R.E.) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded during the pandemic to address the widening achievement gap caused by school closures. We focus on enhancing the educational achievement of underserved students through high-quality instruction, enrichment, and test preparation. Our mission is to reduce educational disparities for low-income students and provide economic, social, and emotional stability for youth, their families, and their communities. Strong education is transformative-not only for the students but also for their families and communities.

Description: E.R.E. is seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to join our Board of Directors. As a Board Member, you will play a critical role in supporting the organization's sustainability through financial contributions, recruiting, outreach, and policy improvement. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable youth while working remotely with a team of committed professionals and activists.

Requirements:

  • Location: Resident of Illinois and/or Texas.
  • Passion: A community activist dedicated to education and equity.
  • Experience: Background working with socio-economically disadvantaged communities.
  • Skills: An outgoing self-starter who can collaborate effectively in a remote setting.
  • Creativity: Willingness to contribute creatively using your expertise, skills, and network.
  • Commitment: Participate in regular Board meetings at least once per quarter and committee meetings every other month.
  • Performance: Regularly complete specific KPIs related to organizational objectives.
  • Financial Contribution: Contribute or raise at least $1,000 annually.
  • Engagement: Be involved for a minimum of one year.

Duties:

  • Advocacy: Serve as an ambassador for E.R.E., spreading awareness and generating interest within your personal and professional network.
  • Support: Actively assist in developing resources, connections, and staffing for E.R.E.
  • Decision-Making: Make informed decisions on Board matters, including policies and organizational issues.
  • Utilize Expertise: Apply your professional skills to assist with goal-oriented tasks (approximately 15-20 hours per month).
