What we need: We are looking for volunteers skilled in strategic planning, financial acumen, research and outreach, negotiation and deal structuring, legal and regulatory knowledge, and the management of risk, change, and projects. The ultimate goal is to merge our nonprofit into another organization or have it acquired by another organization - and we need a professional who is experienced with M & A to help with all stages of this process. Note that we are not looking to sell our nonprofit for money; rather we hope to bring along key staff (eg the Program Director, Tutors, Administrative Assistant, etc.) to continue successfully running the tutoring programs, but now under the umbrella (of funding and leadership) of another organization. Our tutoring programs work, but they could be even more impactful as part of a larger organization. What we have achieved: As we approach our 4-year anniversary, we are ready to hand off all we have built to another organization looking to add a tutoring branch to their services or to expand their current tutoring programs. Our robust high-quality tutoring program has successfully tutored 55 students, all low-income and of color. The program includes efficient and replicable onboarding, management, and assessment processes. With our intensive tutoring program, in just 4 months our students have increased their academic mastery by up to the equivalent of up to 6 years of schooling and improved up to 94 percentile in their Soft Skills. But our successes reach beyond our tutoring program. We have worked with 298 volunteers, 130 of which were interns who acquired professional experience in the fields of marketing, research, outreach, grant writing, and data analytics. We are supported by two boards (the Board of Directors and the Auxiliary Board) and three committees (Advisory, Development, and Fundraising). We have active teams of volunteers for Accounting, Data, Grants, Fundraising, Marketing, Website, and Outreach. And we have built partnerships with many local funders, nonprofits, and service providers. E.R.E. is achieving it's mission - and more! Now we are ready to grow even more in the hands of another organization. Next steps: We have spent the last year fine-tuning processes to identify organizations that could be interested in merging with or acquisition of a tutoring program. We have also already identified 80 such organizations in Illinois and Texas, and began forming relationships with them. We have also drafted compelling pitches to begin the conversation. Now we need a professional to fine-tune what we began and get the process started.
