JaxTHRIVE is a youth-led, non-profit organization with a mission to educate and inspire refugee, homeless and low income children. For this spring of 2023, we are looking for project managers/supervisors who can help us to oversee our tutors who are working with refugee students over Zoom. We are asking mentors to commit to at least 3 hours each week.
How does the program work?
Each project managers/supervisor must commit to meeting with their mentee for 1 hour per week for the duration of the academic semester (through the end of the spring semester), attend a virtual orientation and training, and provide the program director with feedback throughout the term. Volunteers can negotiate their own schedule with the project director.
As project managers/supervisor, you will:
- Oversee Zoom tutoring sessions at least once each week
- Welcome the students and tutors to the call and make sure they are ready to tutor
- Place teams into Zoom tutoring rooms
- Hone your cross-cultural skills
- Expand your global network by meeting new people and making new friends
- Assume a leadership role
- Prepare for your future career by gaining valuable resume-building experience
- Make a true difference!
To participate, you must:
- Volunteer for a minimum of 3 hours per week.
- Be fluent in both written and spoken English.

JaxTHRIVE is made possible by the generosity of donors as well as the energy and commitment of volunteers.
