Help ChickTech craft its monthly email newsletters! Grow your marketing skills and help us send a (literal!) message of diversity and empowerment.

ChickTech's email newsletters are sent the first week of the month to 20,000+ ChickTech supporters and program participants. Each newsletter includes updates from the ChickTech team, upcoming events and activities, news and resources from the 'diversity in tech' community, partner events and announcements, and ways to support ChickTech's work.

Here's an example of our current newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/chicktech/start-planning-your-act-w-conference-experience-1372946

Key responsibilities include:

  • Drafting monthly ChickTech newsletters from a pre-built Mailchimp campaign with new content, provided by ChickTech's Marketing Manager
  • Suggesting new content or design changes to include in the existing newsletter
  • Executing small design changes based on the newsletter's focus (such as including calls to action for events or fundraising campaigns)

Training on ChickTech's branding, mission/vision, and newsletter goals will be provided. Additional training on using the Mailchimp email marketing platform and email marketing basics can be provided based on the volunteer's experience.

We can provide many additional OPTIONAL opportunities to hone email marketing skills, such as conducting campaign analyses, or designing fundraising emails and event/registration email templates! We are more than happy to create a formal internship opportunity for dedicated students or individuals.

Our ideal volunteer will have the following skills:

  • Interest in learning or growing email marketing skills (including the Mailchimp email marketing platform)
  • Ability to meet monthly deadlines
  • Passion for ChickTech's mission to empower women, girls, and non-binary people of all ages in technology

About ChickTech:
At ChickTech, we believe every woman, girl, and non-binary person of any age has the right to fulfill their true potential. Through a variety of confidence and skill-building experiences, we uplift and empower students and adults through the lens of technology. In the end, our goal is to introduce and retain under-represented individuals in tech and show them they are capable of doing and being anything they desire. Through service across the country, volunteers are joining us to bring these experiences to young girls, women, and non-binary individuals who need them the most.
