MMCC Senior Center Kitchen Aid Volunteer
Under the general supervision of head kitchen staff, volunteers will help with assisting in the up-keep of
the kitchen, planning, food preparation, cooking, cleaning up, and helping to serve food for our Senior Center.
Location:
3350 Bailey Ave, Bronx NY, 10463
Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining records of daily food used and foodservice temperatures
- Assist in ordering and maintaining the inventory of kitchen supplies and foods with
supporting personnel - Help serve meals to our Senior Center
- Assist with food preparation, safe handling, and temperature control for participants’ meals.
- Responsible for cleaning the equipment and utensils in work areas, including ovens, worktables,
mixing and slicing machines, and refrigerators/freezers in the absence of the porter/dishwasher.
Also included are; dining room, storeroom, closets areas. - Perform other duties, as assigned
Qualifications:
- Ability to lift 15+ pounds
- Must be 16+ years old to apply
- A positive, friendly, and non-judgmental approach
Day & Time Commitment:
- Monday - Friday
Shifts: 10:00am - 12:00pm

Description
Our story begins in 1942 when a few MMCC programs were run from a storefront on Gun Hill Road, basements on Wayne Avenue, and rented rooms in a local school. In 1958, the main building was built and the programs were expanded to meet the needs of the community annually serving 35,000 Bronx and Manhattan individuals and families of all ages.
