The Colville National Forest (Newport Ranger District) is looking for an energetic, enthusiastic couple or individual to staff the the Bead Lake Boat Launch from May though September. The boat launch is located nine miles northeast of Newport, Washington. Newport is a full service community and is located 45 miles northeast of the city of Spokane, WA (population-300,000). Northeast Washington is heavily forested with many lakes, streams and rivers that provide outstanding recreation opportunities.
The boat launch provides the only public access point on the lake and is very popular with both motorized / nonmotorized watercraft users. It has a small parking area and restroom. Bead Lake Trailhead lies in close proximity to the boat launch site. The trail system is heavily used during the summer months.
