This position functions mainly within the Resource Management Program, within the boundaries of Ninety Six National Historic Site. These areas include areas of historic preservation, primary trail routes, and heavily forested off-trail areas. The volunteer is responsible for carrying out the implementation standard garden work such as, digging, weeding, pruning, planting, watering, and more. In addition, the volunteer gardener may assist with identified vegetation base projects for the purpose of enhancing and/or supporting the visitor experience through a well maintained cultural landscape, interpretation programming involving native plants and historical herbs. Volunteer is expected to adhere to all NPS and site specific laws, policies, and standard operation procedures.
