About the area: Summit Lake Campground is located at 3400 feet elevation in a Northern Hardwoods forest 10 miles east of Richwood, WV. The campground is open from April through November. Summit Lake is a 43 acre stocked trout lake with a boat launch area, accessible fishing pier, picnic tables, hiking trail and vault toilets. Gasoline engines are prohibited on the lake. Richwood is the nearest full service community with a population of about 2,000. Services in include a grocery store, gas stations, post office, police station, doctor, and restaurants. Summersville, WV is approximately 34 miles from the campground. The campground has 33 sites and 5 vault toilets. Trash cans are located near each site. There are no electrical hookups or dumpstation. Campsite will be provided. Campground has vault toilets, 2 hand pumps and 1 spring box faucet for water.
