National Park Service

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

Fort Frederica NM is located on beautiful St. Simons Island, Georgia. Part of the Golden Isles, the park represents the British Colonial struggle in the New World. Frederica was founded by General James Oglethorpe in 1736 and played in an important role during the War of Jenkins Ear (1739-48). Volunteers may assist with visitor center operations including information desk, bookstore, interpretative programs and events, living history, black powder demonstrations, and education programming.

We maintain a robust living history program focused primarily on the early to middle 18th century. The Park is looking for motivated individuals willing to help us make a change.
